It is an experiment to learn whether seeds can germinate faster in sand, black soil or a mixture of sand and black soil. They observed the growth everyday and wrote a report.

Students are planting some bean seeds and giving them water.

A Trip to Kandawgyi Park:
Grade 4 students went on a field trip to Kandawgyi Park on 4th September to learn about plants. They went around the nursery and observed the plants and saplings grown. The Students got some ideas about growing plants and the fertilizers which are used by the shop keepers. Above all, they got information about the art of growing Bonsai and orchids.

They even spent some time in the aquarium at Kandawgyi Park and saw varieties of fish. The next day students wrote a report about their trip.

A Trip to Kandawgyi Park & Fish Aquarium
(By May Thu Khine Gr.4)

Thursday 4th September, 2008 was an exciting day because we went on a field trip. We spoke to the gardeners and got some ideas from them. We learnt how they make Bonsai, how they grow orchids & what kind of soil are they using to grow plants. At Kandawgyi we bought some plants, seeds, pots, watering cans & fertilizers. I bought a plant which was cute. Then, we suggested our teacher that we were eager to go to fish aquarium because it was near. When we arrived, we were with full of excitement. Then, we bought tickets and my friend Andrea bought for me a packet of fish food to feed. When we saw different type of fish to feed we thought some were ugly, dimmed, bright, beautiful, huge, long & scary. There were varieties of fish. When we saw the cave, our classmate, Nicholas went inside and came back shrieking and he told the other girls that it was scary to go inside the cave. But, I didn’t believe and ran inside. Really it wasn’t very scary. When we got back to school we were happy. I will never forget this nice & fun day. We had lots of fun!
