 HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM

>> High School Program

Horizon is offering a one-stop education service for students who want to acquire high school education cost effectively. Horizon provides a challenging High School Program (Grade 9 to Grade 12) which is based on critical thinking skills that allows students to gain confidence and experience based on international education standards. We offer the following programs for our High School students based on demand:

GCE ‘O’ levels (Grade 9-10)
GCE ‘A’ levels (Grade 11-12)

If you want to experience a modern International school atmosphere, then Horizon is the right place to begin your career path. You don’t have to go from tuition to tuition to prepare for your GCE exams any longer.

Students who have passed the Matriculation Examination are eligible for enrolment if they meet the admission criteria. Students who are admitted will be placed at the Grade 10 level.

The term time begins the last week of May every year. Each year is divided into two semesters. After completion of Grade 12, students are awarded with a high school diploma.

Once the students are graduated from the ‘A’ level program, they can apply to any University.

Language tests (such as TOEFL, IELTS) might also be required by some Universities.

Students who are planning to apply for full scholarships advised to take the SAT (Scholarship Aptitude Test) I & II exams after earning their high school diploma.

Horizon has embraced the General Certificate of Examination (GCE) curriculum due to current high demand. In addition to the GCE core curriculum, the following supplementary subjects are also provided:

  • History

Knowledge of past and recent world events provides students with a broad world view and prepares them to communicate with their peers on a wide range of topics.
  • Literature

Language fluency and comprehension is deepened by exposure to writers and thinkers from diverse cultures. Exposure to poetry, plays, novels and speeches enhances social and individual understanding.
  • Computer studies

Technology is changing at a dramatic pace. Students who want to compete globally must be up-to-date in the IT fields.
  • Physical Education (PE) and Extra Curricular Activities (ECA)

A well-rounded PE program offers social, mental and physical development. Participants in PE learn the value of teamwork, excellence and self-discipline.

ECA are selected on an individual basis and voluntary. However, the practical knowledge and socialization skills gained through ECA involvement are essential in preparing students to compete on an international scale.
  • Guidance: 1 hour/week
